Our Story

Every great adventure begins with a single chapter

For me, that chapter started in an unexpected place.

After becoming a mother and navigating postpartum depression, I found myself searching for something that felt like me again. I needed a creative outlet — a place to slow down, work with my hands, and rediscover the joy of making something beautiful. What began as a hobby became a passion. That passion became Dragon Ink and Thread.

Books have always transported me beyond the ordinary — from the moment I first opened Twilight to getting lost in Throne of Glass. They reminded me that even the simplest moments can hold adventure, comfort, and hope. That's the feeling I want to share through everything I make.

Every tote, bow, and scrunchie is handmade in small batches, with thoughtful attention to detail. I never rush the process, because I believe handmade should mean something. When a fabric sells out, its story becomes part of Dragon Ink and Thread's history — making room for the next chapter to begin.

“I want you to feel like this was a missing piece of your wardrobe the whole time.”

You don't have to leave wonder behind just because you've grown up.

Welcome to the Dragon's Nest. There's always room for one more adventurer.

Is everything really handmade?

Yes — every tote, bow, and scrunchie is handmade in small batches right here in San Antonio, Texas. When a fabric sells out, that print retires and a new one takes its place.

How long until my order ships?

Everything is made to order, so please allow 5–10 business days before shipping (7–12 for the puffy woven Sunflower tote) — each piece is sewn just for you.

How do I care for my pieces?

Totes: spot clean and store flat. Scrunchies: hand wash and lay flat to dry. Bows: spot clean and keep out of direct sun to keep colors true. Full care notes live on each product.

Do you take custom requests?

Yes — custom orders open August 15. That page explains what I can make, how pricing works, and has the request form. You can also find me on Instagram @dragonink_and_thread.

Can I pick up locally and skip shipping?

Yes! If you're in the San Antonio area, choose Local pickup at checkout — it drops the shipping fee to $0. We'll email you after your order to arrange a time and place.
